Supporting women through life changes.
Welcome, I appreciate you being here….
My name is Daniela Kolundzija, I am devoted to promoting kindness and mindfulness in every aspect of your therapeutic journey. If you’re seeking genuine compassion, understanding, and a safe space to explore your emotions, you’ve come to the right place.
We do things a little different knowing that being in nature adds to your healing journey. We believe nature helps us to feel more grounded and in tune with our emotions and the present moment.
As a woman, you may feel isolated and alone in your grief due to stressful life changes in your work, relationships, living arrangements, physical and mental health. Change often requires us to lose someone or something and counselling can help you navigate through the losses and offer effective strategies to cope so that you may find solace and resilience as you journey through grief.
Some examples of losses are:
A loved one or an important relationship
Loss of culture, community, tradition, support system
Language, identity, sense of belonging
Sense of self, meaning and purpose
The safe and familiar, places and people
A home, a lifestyle, a role, a reputation
A hope and a dream that never came to fruition
Our younger self, the health we used to have
Feelings of not being in control of your life
Life direction, faith

How we could work together:
If life changes and the experience of grief and loss are significantly impacting your mood, sleep, ability to work, social interactions, or any other important area in your life, finding effective strategies to navigate the grieving process becomes paramount.
We learn how to grieve in our family of origin. We either grew up in families where emotions were openly expressed and discussions around loss was encouraged, or in families where privacy was valued and being emotional or talking about loss was discouraged. The Kindful Counsellor acknowledges the unique background and life experience of each individual client and recognises the importance of the family context in understanding and supporting the individual’s emotional health.
Our aim is to create a collaborative therapeutic relationship built on trust and respect. Together we can create a safe space where you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and emotions without fear of judgement. We believe in empowering you to discover your own strengths and resources, while also providing practical tools and techniques to enhance your well-being.
My Bachelor of Counseling and Graduate Diploma in Family and Relationship Therapy have given me an excellent foundation for effective counselling with individuals, couples, families, and children. I am registered with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and abide by their “Code of Ethics and Practice”. I keep up to date with industry standards through regular professional supervision and commit myself to at least 25 hours or more of on going professional development every year.
In addition, I am registered as a General Member with the Australian Association of Family Therapy www.aaft.asn.au.
Utilising nature as a therapy and healing tool:
We utilise nature as a co-therapist in promoting wellbeing and mental health. A gentle walk and talk in a nearby park or lake can provide respite from a sedentary lifestyle, technology, and the distractions of an office environment. Spending time in nature increases physical activity, boosts your mood and invokes a feeling of connection to something greater. This sense of connection can provide comfort, meaning, and a sense of belonging. For many people, nature acts as a buffer against loneliness or social isolation. Sessions are held outside in a safe and confidential manner in Karrinyup, Western Australia (NB. Indoor options are also available if preferred).
