Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Kindful Counsellor requires 48 hours notice of cancellation for a full refund to be issued. Cancellations made 24 hours in advance will be issued a 50% refund.

    There will be no refund issued for a missed appointment.

    If The Kindful Counsellor needs to cancel an appointed session due to unforeseen circumstances, and a rescheduling of the appointment is not possible, then a full refund of will be issued via bank transfer within 2-3 working days.

  • Currently, The Kindful Counsellor does not offer Medicare rebates through Mental Health Plans.

  • Whilst The Kindful Counsellor accepts referrals from GPs, a referral is not required, nor is a Mental Health Plan. The Kindful Counsellor is a registered private practice and individuals can make appointments directly.

  • The first session is about sharing your main concerns and a time for us to get to know each other. Together we can create goals for what you would like to achieve in the counselling process.

    Note: First session includes 15-20 minutes extra time at, no cost, to complete and sign intake forms.

  • Everything shared with The Kindful Counsellor during a session is private and confidential. One exception to this is if you or I would deem you to be at risk of harming yourself or someone else, or if there is a Court Order. In addition, as part of my professional practice, I am required to keep brief notes between sessions.

  • Yes, although I’ve chosen to focus on working with individual women, I have trained to work with couples, families and children.

  • The Kindful Counsellor is not an NDIS Registered Provider, however, counselling is available to NDIS participants who have a Plan Manager. Fee is $120 per hour.

  • If you have had at least one face to face, in person appointment with The Kindful Counsellor, any consecutive appointments can be made on zoom if required. The cost and duration of a zoom session remains the same at $120 per hour standard fee or $90 per hour concession.

    For a zoom session you will need a computer or phone with a webcam and microphone, reliable internet and a zoom account.

  • If it is raining on the day of the appointment, or extreme heat, indoor options in Karrinyup WA are available and can be discussed over the phone.
